Wendland Lantern Technical Advice

How to measure a Wendland lantern and what size should the hole be?

• Upstand / kerb to be a minimum of 150mm tall. The lantern rider rail is 70mm wide and the upstand width needs to accommodate this.

• The minimum kerb size that building regulations recommend is 70 x 150mm.

• Wendland Lanterns work to external kerb only.

• To work out the internal aperture size, you need to deduct 70mm per side off the external size (your overall lantern order).

For example -140mm based on a 70mm plinth (the deduction will vary depending on the width of the plinth you are using) which when using the example of a 2000mm x 1000mm lantern, then the kerb size will be 1860 x 860mm.

If the plinth is larger than 70mm, then the deduction will need to be more. For instance, 80mm plinth = -160mm each way, 100mm plinth = -200mm.
