Wendland Lantern Case Study

The Collier family wanted more space, and light, and to increase the value of their home. They looked online and spoke to their installer about the different options and the benefits of each.

Homeowner, Julie Collier, said: “We wanted to extend our home to gain more space, light and increase the value of our home. We really love the extension and the roof lantern just makes it! So much light, a real feature to the room. The service from the installer was excellent from start to finish and we were given all the information needed to make a decision. We would 100% recommend the Wendland roofing systems to anyone else looking to extend their home. As a family, we will be able to enjoy it even more when the interior is finished and we’re allowed to have guests again!  We’ve created a huge living space – kitchen / lounge / dining room with a double-sided fireplace.”

The lantern extension was completed with a white lantern roof and two bi-fold doors to create a kitchen, lounge, and dining room in one.

The installer, Andy Collier, chose Wendland (and fabricator partner New Conservatory Roofs) due to the great quality of Wendland from previous jobs and also the recommendation from his fabricator, New Conservatory. Explaining more, Andy said: “I received – as always – an excellent and speedy service from New Conservatory Roofs, both before, during and after installation and would recommend them and Wendland to anyone looking for a lantern supplier or any conservatory/ extension roofing products.”

The Wendland aluminium lantern offers modern styling, but thanks to a host of clip-on features there are no visible fixings, meaning that the lantern also looks very neat. The 20° pitch has been designed at the ideal angle to ensure that plenty of natural light is drawn into the room below to create a bright and airy room.
